how to add target databases that run on active/passive cold failover clusters - AIX HACMP not RAC?

We are having trouble adding target databases that are hosted on an  AIX HACMP cluster. We expected OEM to manage a single target for this database, because the database connection string uses the Virtual IP of the database, not the real IP of the host server. OEM displays the database  as 2 targets, one for each server node of the AIX cluster.
The OEM agent is installed on each server node of the AIX cluster. How can I correctly install/configure the agent and manager to report the database as a single instance? Regards, Mark
