po_action.close_po API is not returning correct result

Hi,

    I am posting this question here as I couldn't find the purchasing comminity.

  I am working on finally closing the PO's using po_action.close_po,but for some reason i am getting the retrun code as submission_failed and sometimes null.Can you please let me know how should consider the return code of this API? What are the return codes of this API and what is the meaning of each retrun code and in which case we consider the PO is finally closed?
