Item Category Codes Best Practice

Hi,

Would anyone confirm if is there any best practices on Defining Item Category Codes and how would it be? It sounds a little obvious but I want to make sure I have the best definition on it. The descriptions for SRP3, 4 and 5, for example, are too generic and makes it difficult to prioritize which the customer should use first.
