REstore and Change Database Name

Hi All,

Thank you for your help..

We are not an RMAN site but are migrating to it and we have a problem:

The developers currently restore their personal databases by using shell scripts on a menu driven system which applies a backup (for a particular day) to their personal databases, using file copies, creating control files, etc, etc...

We would like to restore an RMAN backup to our local databases and are testing a set of RNAN scripts that allows this to happen, however, the databases need to have the same SID and canot be renamed (using DBNEWID) until the restore is finished....
