Samba Configuration to support windows clients accessing SAMFS archive

HI
I have a problem with windows clients (XP and Win7)  accessing a files which have been archived off by SAMFS (5.2) to tape,   the clients see all of the files and when I try to copy a file that is offline the windows client will start the copy,  it will then timeout and fail,   in the background SAMFS will start staging the file and recover from tape.  once the file has been staged i can successfully access it via samba.

SAMFS is running on a solaris 10 u9 x86 server,  Samba has been upgraded to patch 119758-22

any help would appreciated
