Patch 13434486 failing with ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified.

AD Worker error:
The following ORACLE error:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
occurred while executing the SQL statement:
ALTER TABLE ar_payment_schedules_all ADD payment_approval VARCHAR2 ( 30 )
Error occurred in file
/u01/oracle/wwecnv/wwecnvappl/ar/11.5.0/patch/115/sql/b5081398a.sql with arguments ''.

I have asked the customer to try and reapply the patch using ADCTRL but the same error is encountered.

Can you please advise?
