Contacts Report with Last Activity Listed

I need to redesign an existing report which shows a VP's Contact List with the following new rule: show each contact's last Activity. It is a Contact Report, so is this possible or would I need to create an Activity report with this stipulation? I was hoping I could just redesign the existing report with a formula I could add in an existing field or new field. I appreciate any help! Thank you.
