11gr2 and R12.1.3 upgrade question

currently we have an existing R11i(11.5.10.2) instance on 10gr2(10.2.0.4).
We are planning to upgrade upgrade db from 10g to 11gr2 and  apps from 11i to R12.1.3


Basically  in two steps,
1) we Upgrade 11i database from 10g to 11gR2 -- Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0) [ID 881505.1]

2) Upgrade 11i to R12.1.3 -

Any point in time on step 2,do we to follow/apply Interoperability Notes EBS R12 with Database 11gR2 [ID 1058763.1] notes after R12 software laid down.


Will you please help to understand above question ?
