Shared Server process vs Dedicated Sever process

Hi, Experts.....

I have a ERP application...there is about 40 users concurrently using...Is it  possible to implement the database  the shared server process ?

i have read that shared server process is not preferred for ERP...can u explain me that ..In which environment is suitable shared server configuration.
what the advantage using shared server process and also explain the draw back of dedicated server process?
