SSO Autolink in R12

The profile APPS_SSO_AUTO_LINK_USER in R12 can have values of 'Enabled' and 'Create a new User and link to OID User'. Can you explain the difference between the two in the context of auto linking Ebusiness suite users with OID? Also I saw the mention of another profile called APPS_SSO_LINK_SAME_NAMES but dont see this profile in the instance.
