Web Service unclear error

Hi,
i was running an WS integration process and encountered the following error:

Method 'CountRecords' of business component 'Service Request' (integration component 'Service Request') returned the following error:
"Operation is not allowed on sql object in forward only mode.

Please ask your systems administrator to check your application configuration if the problem persists.(SBL-DAT-00407)"(SBL-EAI-04376)


This error dd not occur while running the same process in staging.
Any idea what is a "forward only mode" or why could something like this work only in staging?
