Three step upgrade from SEA 6.0.1 to SIA 8.1.1.7

Just wanted to share this in case anyone is facing a similar situation. 

 

We talked with a SEA 7.0 customer a few years back who was facing this but now we have completed our first three step upgrade.  We do several two-step upgrades each year.

 

The time to go from SEA 6.0.1 -> SEA 7.7.2.11 -> SEA 8.1.1.5 -> SIA 8.1.1.7 was 1.5 weeks.  It was a little longer than expected since our dev was a copy of the customer’s production environment so we hit some data issues that you normally don’t have to deal with in dev.

 

The upgraded application looks really good.  We are finishing testing it in our upgrade cloud and will turn it over to the customer in a few weeks after we finish our automated migration of their scripts.
