Can i have agent 10 installed and configure to 11 oem rac ?

Hi All,
I have oem 11 rac installed , and my project has db versions like starting from 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 .
i have already configured 11 and 10 versions dbs to the oem 11 through the 11g agent configuration.
but found 9 and 8 versions will not support in configuring to the oem 11 .
hence am thinking to have 10 g agents installed on the db verions for 8 and 9 to configure it on the oem 11 grid ..


so my questons is can we have the 10 agents installed on the server to configure the agent to montior on the 11 oem grid .

i tried installing the 10 agent and tried to point out the vip address of the 11 oem but getting an error like oem server is not reachable etc .. but am sure i can ping that server vip address from the agent installed server
