Company changing name, how does this affect GL

We are changing our company name.  The name has had two part and the first part if now being dropped.  How does this change our Oracle setups?  We want all reports and files to use the new name.  I have researched and found the the GL set of books is the root of our payables, receivables, and cash managment modules.  HR/PR even have the set of books names tied to it.  What do I need to do to make the name transition as easy as possible.  We are currently on 11i and have seen that the set of books cannot be renamed that
