Question about Transaction type setting auto-schedule and all scheduling action

Can someone please explain a bit about the use of these 2 option? When I select all scheduling action, and uncheck auto-schedule,  the sales order line will be auto reserved when I save the order , not yet booked,
I have a little confused about the 2 options, and can it reserved after when it is booked?
