Invoicing rule and accounting rule?

 Hi,

I read alot of documents on google and user guide,but still confusion in invoicing rule and accounting rule.Can anyone give business example in easy words to understand the scenario with the use of invoicing and accounting rule.

Can we attach only invoicing rule on order type and not accounting rule?will it work?
