Scheduled Requests are not being sent by Email (12.1.3)

Version 12.1.3 offers the possibility in a subtap of step 6/7 to send the request output files by email to entered recipients. In our current system setup these emails are not sent out.
Does anyone know how to enable the email forwarding for this feature?

Sales User Responsibility > Requests > Schedule (Step 6)
