DNS a must have when setting up a 7420 cluster ?

We recently acquired our first 7420 boxes and have now started configuring them. When setting up two in a cluster it seems that they will be clustered using nodenames. This leads to the belief that DNS is required. However, the network zone we are using does not have DNS. What to do ? Use IP adress as nodename or is there another way of configuring the cluster using nodenames without utilising DNS ?
