Salesrep issues

We are running ebs r12 and recently one of our sales reps left the org. We hired a new person and now want to get this sales rep the accounts that the old one had. We are not using territories (just in case). We were also trying to keep the old sales rep number active (but seems that is a no-no) so how do I assign the old rep accounts to the new one?
