Difference between Asynchronous and Synchronous mode of execution in agile plm

Hi All,

Can anybody help me in understanding synchronous and asynchronous event execution in agile plm. How do we decide whether we should go with asynchronous or synchronous execution based on scenario?Very much appreciated, if i get advantages and disadvantages of both modes of execution and some examples as well.
