Any standards for picking up of data file size

Hi I would like to ask the DBA community to provide valuable suggestions regarding picking up of a data file size (8G,16G or 32G). I wanted to find an answer keeping in view the recovery time if it is a big size vs smaller size. I am looking at it with respect to DR, performance etc. Please point me to Oracle official documents, notes, community posts etc.
