Is there a way to automate Meter Reading Entry?

Trying to find if there is a way to automate Meter Reading entry. Sometimes Meters don’t run for extended period of time – 6 months. But still we have to enter the same meter reading at regular intervals so that PM engine knows that meter is not running as below. Is there a way to automate this?  If we don’t enter Feb. Mar and Apr reading as below , PM engine will use Daily usage rate  thinking that the meter is running during Feb, Mar and Apr etc and suggest Work orders that will be incorrect

Example

Diesel Engine Hour Meter – 01/01/2012     meter reading    150
