RAC database redo generatin query

 Hi All,

When I looked into one of rac database to check number of redo generated per day, I could see exact numbers and amount of archive log genrated on both instances. Is it possible even if you use only one instance , the other instance will produce same volumn of redo

I checked in gv$log_history

Could you anyone please explain archivelog generation on RAC environment
