need to provide grant to a new user

hi gurus,
i am working as technical consultant as per my requirement i need to create a new schema and in that schema i need to create some custom tables and some type objetcs

now i need to connect to db as sysdba and need tp issue some grants&privilages to the new user

after that i need to create db objects in that schema

can any body please tell me some information to how to connect oracle applications db as sysdba using putty
