How to schedule journal import?

Its a known issue that due to group_ids its not possible to schedule journal import.
This is documented in notes:
How To Schedule GLLEZL Journal Import Program note 371189.1
Journal Import cannot be scheduled as group_id is unknown note 342299.1
Is it possible to schedule Gl Interface Data Transformer ? note 341145.1

However I would hope that other customer who faced the same problem might have implemented any customization
or custom triggers which could deliver a possible workaround.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.
