wildcard seraches

looking for some help - most of the time I just have the base patch number and need to find the most recent patch.  How do you wildcard search for it?
example: patch 137394 - need to find 137394-XX  -
Up til now I just add -01 and follow the chain of obsolete patches till I can find the one I need.
