New Plan Name - What is the Best Practice for changing a plan name?

Hello -

We would like to change the name of our current Medical Plan and automatically roll participants over from the name of the old plan to the new plan name; all other plan setup will remain the same. The existing medical plan will no longer be used.

We were thinking of date tracking to a future date and changing the name of our exisitng plan or creating a brand new plan - what is the Best Practice for this type of change? What are the benefits and disadvantages?

We also have interfaces and reports created to look at the plan id - we would have to change the reports and interfaces if we create a new plan as oppose to changing the name of the exisiting plan.
