Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. In R12, how many Assets periods can be opened?

Hello All,

I get a request from our Accounting department that they want to open Oracle Assets periods till 2017.

Are there any restrictions on how many future periods can be opened in Oracle Assets? What are the down sides of having these many open periods?

Also, does this mean that the GL periods also need to be opened?
