Will J4400 work on LSI SAS 9200-8e SGL Card?

Hey folks,
The LSI SAS 9200-8e SGL 8 Ports External PCI Express 2.0 Controller Card says it works with 3 and 6 gig SAS, which means it should work with the J4400s (3G SAS1).

I know someone who has used older SAS1 Dell gear with this card.

Anyone know whether or not the J4400s will work with it?   I'd like to know for sure before I buy one.

I'll be putting it into a Sunfire X2250 that runs Ubuntu 12.04 Linux.
