RAC Reconfiguration Halt all application requests

 There is 2 node RAC database, configured with fail-over type as Select, method as Basic. when one node failed, all sessions on failed node can take more than 20 seconds to restart query from survive node. How can reduce the Halt period? Is any solution to bypass such long time disruption?
