Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. What is the difference between Posting Edit Code of (N) Non-posting vs (I) Inactive?

Both values prevent amounts from posting to an account.

N or non-posting defines header accounts preceding a group of similar accounts such as Assets, Liabilities and so forth. Header accounts do not store balances, but rather balance values post to subordinate accounts.
I or Inactive defines accounts that were used up to a certain point in time but then by business decision are no longer valid. They may still hold historical postings.
