This one thread will address your  errors and warnings with HR_PF.B.delta5 Pre patches

Pre patching issues

11894708 says to apply to middle tier only (we have 2 tiers) and applied to both wrong to do that????
Got a lot of errors like No metadata entry META-INF/JRIMETA.DAT found for frmall.jar, ewt3.jar ewt3-nls.jar xmlparserv2.jar, mvclient.jar, mail.jar and activation.jar Note 401424.1 says to ignore. Please confirm.
Also got j11894708_3p.zip does not have expected size and fndjar.dep as elements of output file fndmail.jar (fndaolj.jar, etc) coul not be found in any area warnings. Please advise
