Can Oracle 10g RAC, with Oracle CRS, run alongside Orace 9i RAC, with Sun Cluster 3.1?
Hi,
My customer has a 9i 2-node RAC production database which he wants to migrate, on the same pair of servers, to Oracle 10g RAC, and at the same time use ASM, rather than raw volumes, for the data files. My questions are:
1. Will the Sun Cluster, version 3.1, which is used for the 9i RAC database, co-exist with the Oracle clusterware (CRS) which will have to be installed if 10g RAC is to be used?
2. Conversely, will the presence of Oracle clusterware interfere with the smooth running of the 9i database (currently production) and Sun cluster?
Any help would be gratefully received.
