Unable to save User Preferences in 8.1.1.7

 Hi,

We have upgraded to 8.1.1.7 and after upgrade one of our custom screens is facing issue whenever the tab layout for that screen is changed by any user. The .spf gets corrupted and screen gets distorted. User cant navigate to any views in that screen. All view tabs, visibility dropdowns disappear and the only solution to this is deleting the spf which results in losing all user preferences for that user. We have tried following options but nothing seems to work - 
1. Disabling scripting (server and browser 
2. Removing any customized templates
3. Changing the path for the spfs using CFGSharedModeUsersDir but that only changed the path for spf creation though issue still persists
