Convert Items to Serial Number Controlled

We have decided to move some of our largest and most expensive items to serial number controlled.

But we are not sure which jobs need to be run in order to update all the Item Location records to being S/N controlled.

We are thinking that this is the process we will have to use for these items:

1) Create inventory transactions (IA or II) to remove the balances for each item.

2) Change the coding at the Item Master level for each of the items. 

3) Create inventory transactions (IA) to add the balances for each item.

The first step will remove the non serial numbered items, the second step will add the serial controlled items.
