Payable periods unable to close

Hi

We are unable to close payable periods. Because June and july periods  closed in GL . whether first we have to open periods of GL than we can close periods in Payable than closed periods.

What are transactions there in payables those month  we have sweep to august than we triy to close. but it not allowing.
