What is the maximum number of IF statement we can use for one field in BIP ?

Hi,

One query regarding the conditional IF statement as below:

What is the maximum number of IF statement we can use for one field in BIP ?
We have a requirement to check the incoming activity type and repalce it by the its mapped value.The count of the activity type can be more than 40. Please let me know the maximum count of IF we can use without affecting the template.
