ASR Qualified for J4400 array?

This is one of those "am I missing something?" questions. I have a 7310 appliance consisting of one host attached to a J4400 JBOD. Under Manage Assets here, the 7310 shows that ASR support is active. The J4400 shows that it is "ASR Qualified", but I can't figure out how to activate ASR for it. I wouldn't think that a JBOD shelf would have the necessary intelligence.
