Is Batch Source a Mandatory Field for searching batches in R12 ?

Hi
Is the Batch Source a mandatory Field when trying to search a Transaction Batch?

We have many batch sources for different books and the users are not used to remembering the batch source.. see screen shot - Unless the source is entered, the name field is greyed out

In 11i they only enter the batch name and find..

Any Suggestions / ideas?
