Health Care FSA Uneven Payroll Deductions
For example, an employee selected $1,500 on 1/28 for HC FSA or 23 pay periods at $65.22 per pay period or $1,043.52 total through 9/30 pay check.
The employee change election to $2,000 on 9/28 – it appears the system is counting that she had $65.22 withheld last pay period of January up to and including the 9/30 pay period. Then when it is taking the net against the new election it is dividing by 7 pay periods when it should be 6. $2,000 - $1,043.52 divided by 7 gets $136.64 (penny off) in view.
Our paydays are the 15th and last day of the month. If either falls on the weekend the payday is the previous workday.
