Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. How do you ensure that a user doesn't enter a task number that is too long?

Is there a way of limiting the length of task number entered into HTML when the task is being created ?

We have an incident whereby a user has created a task, costs have been recorded against it.
The user has then tried to amend the finish date, but has not been able to because Oracle says the task number is too long.
We did have to at least try to shorten the task number, but obviously, we're not allowed to change that as there are costs on the task.

Actually, I feel sure that there used to be limits on creation, but doesn't appear to be there any more.
