What purpose does the Report Manager application serve or How do you use this application?

We have a corporate account for running all production jobs for our company.  While the corporate account is secured (by the  IT Dept), users cannot access the reports or log file that were run.

I have explored two methods to make the reports and log files available:

1.  Use the "Upon Completion" block of the Submit Request form to email reports to the user.

2.  Create a role and grant using User Management responsibility;  example see note 804296.1.

I have done both and I prefer method #2.  While method #1 is do-able, in my opinion, is high maintenance when one considers the number of jobs that are run.  Method #2 gives the users a lot of concurrent requests/jobs to sort through.
