Configuring Same Period rates for all Ledgers in Oracle EBS R12

Post upgrade to R12, the period rates from 11i are changed with naming convention as period rate_ledgerid  (suffixed with ledger_id) for each

ledger converted from set of books in 11i. We want to associate same unique period rate type for all Ledgers. What would be the financial implications

doing this. Has anybody encountered similar issues, if yes please let us know the best practicies followed.
