VDI - Smartcard reader, Sun Ray3, VRDP and RDP

Hi all, I have been trying, to no avail, to get USB smartcard readers to work on win7 VM's accessed via sunray3's. I have tried using both RDP and VRDP pools, have bought a couple of the readers on oracles hardware list, and the only success thus far has been an RDP pool that will allow access to the built in reader (I'm not sure why) which does not happen on the main VDI infrastructure. Although USB attached readers are sometimes recognised (though mostly not) the card insertion is never detected. Anyway, I have been looking for information on the architecture, components,
