Inventory Dimensions

We have a need to track inventory by several units of measure or dimensions - almost specific dimensions per piece.  I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions.

 

We are a metals manufacturer and produce both round products (tubes) and flat products (sheets of metal).

Items are dual UOM - Primary being LB, secondary being EA.

Item numbers are currently defined by dimensions to some degree.  Ie for round products, the OD and ID are defined (hence thickness is inferred).  However, because we could sell 6 inches or 6 feet of material, the lenth is an unknown variable.  For flat products it is even more convoluted, thickness is defined as part of the item number and would not be changed for selling.  However, we could sell an entire sheet of metal or we could sell some subportion of a sheet.  For example, if we started with a 4x8 sheet, we could sell a 1x2 corner of that.
