How can I improve the resolution (better than 800 x 600 ) for my desktop.

I recently installed installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux desktop.  I am using Oracle virtualbox and with the resolution as it is, I can't see all the controls on the app that I am running.  If someone could provide the package for yum or config app to change this, I would sure appreciate the help.
