What is the significance of UIN, is this used only for capturing IMEI numbers of mobile phones ?

How is this handled across Oracle Retail (SIM, POS & RMS) ?

What is the difference between UIN and UPC, though UPC in simple terms is the supplier barcode of the Item ?

Explanation with a live example would be most commendable.
