SSO with JDEdwards EnterpriseOne

To configure SSO with JDEdwards EnterpriseOne to use network id (Microsoft Active Directory ID) to login to JDEdwards Enterprise One, do we need the OAM installed? Is it mandatory component? We are on JDE9.0 with TR 8.98.4.2 with WebLogic JDE Web Server 10.3.4.0 on Windows. Any help is appreciated
