Modifying the System Controls Oldest Date Placed in Service

Hello

We recently consolidated another company's ledger into one of our existing ledgers.  We have some problems with the Asset piece because the existing ledger has their System Controls Oldest Date Placed in Service as 01-JAN-2000.  Yet the ledger being added has items previous to 01-JAN-2000.

Can this date be modified?  Is there some way to get around it?

Any guidance would be appreciated.
