Restore/recover database using OMF on ASM

Hello,
I need to restore/recover database using OMF on ASM.

My question is if I should first remove my datafiles in ASM using the ASMCMD command line utility or will RMAN take care of this.

What if new datafiles have been added since the backup, will these files be removed automatically ?
